Communal 40 are an anarcho-hardcore punk band that mixes anthemic left-wing politics with personal storytelling, dark humor, and high energy performance. Their influences span from the formative sounds of Dead Kennedy's and Descendents to the powerful melodies and feuding riffs of Talking Heads and Modest Mouse. Communal 40 is comprised of classically trained vocalist Garrison, riffmaster Dakota rocking guitar, and the lovely Jade beating drums. They collaborate on lyrical themes and take the time write rhythmic and interesting instrumentals.
